First, I’ll tell you that I’m a big fan of Dove® bath products. I love their shampoo, conditioner and Cream Oil body lotions. When BlogHer mentioned the chance to try out the Dove VisibleCare™ Toning Crème Body Wash, their new revolutionary line of premium body wash, I was happy to try it. There are three formulas (or variants as Dove calls them). The Toning Cream Body Wash promotes skin’s elasticity and strength, The Renewing Cream Body Wash nourishes and The Softening Cream Body Wash replenishes skin and the third softens skin and dry spots. According to Dove, the VisibleCare Body Wash contains the highest concentration of NutriumMoisture technology across the Dove portfolio.
The formula I was sent is the Toning variant, which promotes skin’s elasticity and strength.
With the Texas heat and dryness, along with the amount of time spent outside in the garden and yard, my skin has been showing the stress. Now that we’re in the midst of shorts or capri season, we need all the help our skin can get.
The first thing I noticed when I used the VisibleCare Body Wash was the scent. In fact, before using it, I opened the bottle to smell it! I love things that smell good. I am not fond of overly strong scents but love just a hint of scent. Dove describes the scent in this particular formula as “A warm ylang ylang and delicate wood fragrance with robust citrus notes of mandarin and Italian bergamot”. It isn’t overly sweet or overly strong but struck me as fresh and clean. It’s definitely a scent I can see being a hit with all ages. Other scents, which I have not yet tried, include a fruity floral fragrance that includes a modern combination of pink mimosa and pomegranate (the Renewing variant) and a white floral gourmand fragrance that includes an elegant combination of magnolia and pink jasmine (the Softening variant).
After using the VisibleCare Body Wash for a little over a week, I can see and feel the difference. After showering, I’ve always used a body lotion or cream and what I’m seeing is that, fresh out of the shower, after using VisibleCare Body Wash and before adding extra lotion, my skin feels like it feels after adding lotion – smooth and with less visible lines. While I wouldn’t describe my skin (arms and legs) as having wrinkles, I do see little lines and while I know they are going to come with age, I’ll do what I can, within reason, to minimize those lines and I think VisibleCare Body Wash, along with a good, quality body lotion or cream are very effective.

I’m definitely going to try the other two variants and will report back here on my thoughts about them all. If you’re seeing a bit of dry skin or noticing some aging skin, I recommend giving Dove VisibleCare Body Lotion a try. Which variant would you like to try? When going through radiation treatment for breast cancer in 2006 Dove bodywash was the only thing my radiation oncologist thought was safe to use. Have used their products since then and very pleased.

I’m a ‘minimalist’ when it comes to things like this, but nice review. Also, I’m very sensitive to fragrances so would prefer an unscented variety – there’s something out there that guys wear that reminds me of flyspray from the 60’s, and another that women wear that smells sickenly sweet like roasted marshmallows. I’m much better than I once was and can tolerate fragrances better. While I was on vacation my mom was low on bathroom hand soap. She uses liquid, so I was at a store and thought I’d pick up a bottle for her. The scent was described as Cherry Almond – sounds like it should smell good….nope, not for me! It didn’t smell like cherries nor almonds but closer to that flyspray the guys wear, so I figure my sniffer must be wacko or whoever comes up with scents is 😉 I suspect I’d not be a good ‘reviewer’.

That’s what I get for my Mom because she is allergic to the soap at her nursing home. I’ve noticed a big difference in her skin.
