Good morning Judy, you design wall looks like it’s something from the past. I a very old grandmothers flower garden that I bought at an auction that looks a lot like that one. My has pink for the connecting path instead of “that green” from the 30’s. Yours is lovely.
I have one very similar to this one (right down to the unfinished shape) that came to me after my Grandma passed away. I’ve never worked with hexagons, so I’m a little intimidated, and that quilt top remains unfinished in a box! Looking forward to hearing the story on yours! 🙂
I have a question about the ‘Making Ends Meet’ quilt and other pieced borders. As you can tell from my design wall that I was able to finish the top, minus a couple borders. But I had difficulties getting the pieced border to meet. I always thought the rule was to sew 1/4″ seams, is that true or is it just in the piecing? Where did I go wrong? http://duchsfearl.blogspot.com/2011/04/design-wall-4-04.html
you can see one of the three areas that didn’t meet in the top right corner (pink).

I guess I’m not sure what you’re asking me. From what I can see, your borders look right.
