Morning Splash #1

You might want to download this little cheat sheet.  Click here to download and print a .pdf file.  Print it.  Glue a little strip of your fabric to the corresponding box.  It will help you out later.

LayoutHere’s my little cheat sheet that I pinned up to the wall in front of where I sew.

DSC08432

This pattern is all typed up as a Word document and I’m having to retype it all in segments for the blog because I can’t cut/paste.  If you see anything that doesn’t look right, please ask me before cutting your fabric.  I’m checking and double checking . . I know the pattern is correct but I’m trying to be careful as I re-type everything here.

Cutting Instructions:

Border Fabric:
3 – 2-1/2″ strips (A)

Background Fabric:
3 – 1-1/2″ strips (B)
2 – 2-1/2″ strips (C)

Accent Fabric:
2 – 1-1/2″ strips (D)

Sewing Instructions:

1.  Sew a 2-1/2″ border fabric strip (A) to a 1-1/2″ background strip (B).  Make 3 strip sets.  Press seam allowance towards border fabric.  Cut into 34 – 2-1/2″ segments.

1

2.  Sew a 2-1/2″ background strip (C) to a 1-1-/2″ accent strip (D).  Make 2 strip sets.  Press seam allowance towards accent fabric.  Cut into 34 – 1-1/2″ segments.

2

3.  Sew a segment from Step 2 to a segment from Step 1.  Press seam allowance towards the unit from Step 1.  Make 34.

What a great idea for all projects! I inevitably get myself confused when I use sticky notes — they just don’t stick!

Thanks, Judy. I’m printing this, but won’t be able to concentrate and get going for a day or two — plaster dust all over everything from the working guys, so I need to get some serious housecleaning tended to.
    Jeanne 🙂

Judy, Why don’t you same your Word document as a PDF and then link it so we can just down load the pdf to our computers?

Whoops,… that was supposed to be SAVE document as PDF. Actually what you do is PRINT as PDF.

I’m starting this project with you Judy – my first quilt for an hour with you. Anybody else overseas starting this project? My sister in Montana is starting too – we are both excited to do this with you.
