Diggin’ Through Stuff

It’s a good thing I have plenty of bacon in the freezer.

Chad goes to work very early on weekends and when he leaves the house, we haven’t had breakfast yet.  In fact, he’s home for lunch not long after we’ve had breakfast so I always cook extra bacon and save it for him.  When he gets home for lunch, he’ll fix an egg and have a bacon and egg sandwich.

Saturday night we were having Spinach Salad with dinner and I put bacon in my salad so I fried lots of extra bacon.  Chad’s kind careful about his weight . . in fact, he’s trying to lose weight now.   There was a lot of bacon left on the plate!

After Chad went back to work, I noticed the bacon was gone . . every crumb of it!  No problem.  I have more.  Fried another bunch of bacon and left it sitting on a plate.  Went downstairs to sew for a while.  Came upstairs and half the bacon was gone!

Vince had eaten it!  He thought it was leftover from breakfast.  Not his fault because I didn’t tell him not to eat it.  Took out more bacon and fried it and never took my eyes off it til time for dinner.  No way was anyone getting even one piece of it this time!

And, we finally got around to dinner and having our Spinach Salad!

We had Chicken Parmigiana too, along with crusty bread.  It was good!!

Hmmmmmm, yum! Bacon, spaghetti . . . wonder how those two mixed together would taste? I do notice that your portions and amounts that you prepare are modest. I guess that is why you don’t gain weight eating those kinds of foods. Thanks for the great reading every day!

I was so ready to read that Speck had eaten the bacon. (Now all I can think about is that dog treat commercal…)

I think we’ve been conditioned to think poor Speck is the culprit. Maybe we should start blaming things on that nasty chicken.

I have a bacon thief in my house too. If I want extra, I have to set it aside as I cook. I have my little hidie dish right next to the stove.

Bacon in spaghetti is awesome!! Bacon is awesome with anything. 🙂

If Speck was taller, I was thinking he was the bandit. Not so likely in his case. We have a greyhound who counter surfs, so I always have to watch out when I leave things out. Whole sticks of butter, loaves of fresh bread, 1/2 lb. of fudge, a bottle of Ambien, a raw chicken thigh. The list goes on! Oh yes, the paper plate and greasy paper towels from microwaved bacon!

I too have a counter surfer but my bacon thief is my husband he would eat a pound if I wasn’t there to stop him. Gosh think of all the cholesterol in a pound of bacon hmmm

I love bacon too, but live in the middle east where they don’t sell pork in regular stores. I have to go to a special “pork room” and get my “fix”. I save my bacon and sausage for special times.

I love bacon! Nice & crispy the way yours looks. And chicken parmigiana, too! Would you consider sharing the recipe? Thanks, Judy, you’re the greatest!
