The votes have been counted and Border #2 has won. I’ll give you the instructions today for the borders leading up to the pieced border. Without borders, your top should measure 58-1/2″ x 77″, including seam allowances.
Background Fabric:
- 5 – 2-1/4″ strips (A)
- 12 – 2″ strips (B)
Border Fabric:
- 8 – 1-3/4″ strips (C)
Border #1 – Background fabric – The side borders will be cut 2-1/4″ (A). The top and bottom borders will be cut 2″ (B). After the addition of these borders, the top should measure 62″ x 80″, including seam allowance.
Border #2 – Border fabric – All borders will be cut 1-3/4″ (C). After the addition of these borders, the top should measure 64-1/2″ x 82-1/2″, including seam allowances.
Border #3 – Background fabric – All borders will be cut 2″ (B). After the addition of these borders, the top should measure 67-1/2″ x 85-1/2″.
These are the measurements your top will need to be for the pieced borders to fit.
