Yes, I am Quilting!

The winner is . . Norma in Baton Rouge. There were three who guessed correctly and Norma’s name was drawn.

Thanks to all who guessed.  I’m not sure I could have come as close as many of you did.

Here’s what I made:

  1. Double batch of meatballs and sauce (that could count as 2 things).  I used the red blog, the three jars of tomatoes, Italian sausage, garlic sausage, along with other things.
  2. Chicken Salad.  I used boiled eggs, celery, chicken, toasted slivered almonds and other things.
  3. Cranberry Walnut Bread.  I used the cranberries, toasted walnuts, and other things.
  4. Eggplant Parmesan.  I used the marinara sauce  (from #1) and the leftover fried eggplant.
  5. Hamburger buns from the bread dough in the blue bowl.
  6. Crunchy Sweet Pickles (Bread & Butter type) from the gallon jar of dill pickles.
  7. Spicy BBQ Sauce from the bottles of BBQ Sauce.
  8. Browned ground beef and froze it in 3 bags (to be used for Speck or pizza).

Additionally, included in this picture but the ingredients weren’t listed on the first blog post:

  1. Smoked Pork Butt.
  2. Cole Slaw.
  3. Flank Steak to marinate overnight.

I think that’s all . . but it was a full day of cooking!

O.K. I realize it doesn’t take much, but I am confused. Was this something you posted on your cooking blog? Like I say, doesn’t take much….

Congratulations Norma, you’ll enjoy using those wide backings.

Well Judy…….It’s easy to come close to how you think…….remember this is your diary that you have left open to the whole public.

Congratulations to Norma. I am slapping myself on the head for NOT guessing chicken salad….DUH…how dumb was THAT? (I’d not have won by guessing that additional item, but I still can’t believe that one wasn’t obvious to me!) Happy Mother’s Day to you, Judy.

    Congratulations Norma!

I got close on some….and totally missed the boat on others! I forgot that our Judy makes MEATBALLS, lol. I make meatloaf as I can’t make a decent meatball.

my guesses were way off, but I should have figured out the meatballs as I know your family loves them. I, too cannot make any that I like….but am mostly curious about the pickles…so you took a jar of pickles and changed the flavoring? how tha heck did ya do that? sounds like fun to me. will see if I can get anything on google about that.

Thanks Judy. Can’t believe I won, hubby does the cooking, but I haven’t forgotten how. He cooks, I quilt, right? Thanks so much for the backings, they will be put to good use. By the way, we’re retired now and he has waay more energy than I do, has to always be doing something.
