Organizing the Charts

May 24, 2025

I've made good progress on re-organizing the linen. I started the memorial project for my dad on May 1 and haven't done much of anything stitch related except work on that. Not complaining - I'll be so happy to have it done and on a wall soon. My initial plan several years ago was to put the charts in project bags. I use these "project bags" from Amazon. I put a sheet of blue paper in the front ...

Beautiful Lettuce

May 23, 2025

It's about time to say goodbye to the beautiful, tasty lettuce. Yes, lettuce I pick and eat the same day tasted quite different from most of the lettuce I've bought in the grocery store. Here's a funny Vince story. Not complaining . . it's his lack of attention to what I do that keeps me out of trouble (ordering floss, linen and charts - previously yarn and fabric!) :) I was fixing our ...

A Fridge Update

May 23, 2025

Please don't feel bad for me - we're fine with the loaner fridge. I'm just sharing this info so anyone who's looking at buying a new fridge can know what "customer service" is like for some brands. Even though we've had this fridge for three years, the compressor has a five year warranty and we have an extended warranty, which for some reason, I think is good through 2031. So, one might think ...

The Stitched Piece for my Dad

May 23, 2025

Horrible picture I know. I took this late last night with two dogs on my lap and it was more important to "let a sleeping dog lie" than to get a good picture. I still have one brother's name/DOB and DOD to add, I still have to finish the cartouche around his parents' dates and there are three or four small motifs I want to add in some of the larger open areas. My plan is to finish this ...

Lots of Hail Damage Claims

May 22, 2025

We're getting towards the end of all the "investigation" and "getting ready" for the hail damage to be repaired here. It hasn't been bad so far. I'm sure there are plenty of folks who have had issues with State Farm; our journey hasn't ended yet but they've all been so nice, so helpful and no one has seemed to be pinching pennies when it comes to repairs. There are so many of these signs ...

Another Refrigerator Story

May 20, 2025

This refrigerator story is getting to be comical. I'm so ready just to put it out with a "Please Take" sign and go buy another one . . even though this one is under warranty and should be fixed by someone or replaced but I'm beginning to believe it's never going to be fixed or replaced. Yesterday Repairman #1 came back. I can't remember how many times he's been here . . five or more times. He's ...
