I've had the Harvest Right freeze dryer for 6-1/2 years now. During the summer, it runs probably 80% of the time - day and night. This time of year, there's not a lot to freeze dry but if I find something on sale - bell peppers, zucchini, fruit, etc., I'll get enough to fill the freeze dryer and run a load or two. We're still eating figs that I freeze dried from our trees in Texas and we are very ...
2024 Finishes
Finish #1: The first finish was Strawberry Harvest by Stitches Through the Years. It was stitched on 36 count Legacy by Picture This Plus. It was my Blessing Sampler (though it isn't a sampler) for 2024. Started it on 1/1/24 and finished it on 1/21/24. I made a few changes - left off some of the flowers in the border, didn't stitch the fill in below the vine at the bottom, changed some of the ...
Canning ALL Day
First, thank you all so very much for noticing the "V" missing on For the Love of Nature. Please don't ever feel bad about pointing out a mistake. Every now and then, someone will point out a mistake that was actually in the chart and I'm happy to explain why I stitched it that way. Sometimes I fix it and stitch it correctly, sometimes I just follow the chart. I would a million times over rather ...
For the Love of Nature – Finished
Yes, for real! It's finished . . unless someone tells me something I've missed. I finished it just before midnight on 12/29 so it's now 12/30 and I am tired and have not even looked at it so, really, please tell me if I've missed something. I will not be surprised. I did change some of the stitching below the house/deer. It looked too cluttered to me. That's a shadow at the very bottom. The fabric ...
New Year Sampler
There's a tub of project bags in the sewing room and there's a label on the tub that says "Holidays". I wasn't even sure what was in there so I removed the lid. I only got as far as the first bag which held the New Year Sampler by OwlForest Embroidery. I took it all upstairs to show Vince and forgot to bring it back downstairs (so I can't take a picture of the cover) but you can see a picture of ...
2025 Stitching Ideas
There's no way I'll ever stitch all, or even a large portion, of the cross stitching charts I have here. It's so easy to see a new chart, fall in love, buy it, stick it away and then, a few weeks later, buy another one that catches my eye. While I'm not making any "resolutions" for 2025, there are a couple of things, maybe a few more than a couple, that I want to work on improving. I'm making ...
