Vince found this article about a bank in Oronogo, MO that was robbed by Bonnie & Clyde in 1932. I found it interesting and thought some of you might. We drove by the site yesterday afternoon, it’s probably three miles from our house.

My grandma would tell me stories about Bonnie and Clyde. The two were in the area several times not far from where my grandparents lived. My grandparents didn’t live on the main highway but they did live on a well traveled highway with no neighbors and no phone and, my grandma lived in fear of those two for a while. My mom was born in 1934. They were killed just a few days after my mom was born. I’m sure, even without TV or phone, folks in that area found out very quickly that the era of Bonnie and Clyde had ended.
They spent 13 nights in Joplin and stayed in a garage apartment that’s available as a nightly rental through AirBNB.
That’s about all the Bonnie and Clyde trivia that I know. 🙂

When we lived in AR, we would sometimes go through Gibsland, LA in our travels back and forth. Just a few miles out of the town is a granite marker at the spot where Bonnie and Clyde were killed. And don’t forget about the Ballad of Bonnie and Clyde song from 1968… it was interesting. Lol.

The Highway Men is a really good true story of Bonnie and Clyde and how they were taken down. Highly recommend it for you and Vince. On Netflix.

My mom lived there at the time! I remember her telling me stories about it.
