Fully finishing is not my favorite thing to do! I love stitching and have put off finishing things for a long time. Some of these pieces were stitched in 2021.
I’ve shared this before but there’s one wall in the basement family room. First, there are so few walls in this house. I don’t mean we don’t have walls but we don’t have walls where I can hang things. When we first moved here, I asked Vince if he cared if I hung a bunch of cross stitching on the one wall in the basement family room and he said he did not care. One day Addie and I took a hammer and nails and we randomly put nails in the wall. I hung up the empty frames I had been buying at thrift stores. It made it easier to see what I had so I could maybe plan pieces to fit frames. For the most part, for three years, those empty frames have been hanging on that wall.
No more . . there are no more empty frames on that wall.

Except for the framed picture of Oscar, it’s all pieces I’ve stitched. A couple of these are just popped into the frames and not laced yet. I still have 8 more that are finished that need to be framed.
Top Row: Cottage Garden by Teresa Kogut. That was an April, 2023 Patreon chart. Not sure if it’s available for purchase. Next is the piece I stitched as a memorial for my dad’s family. Next is For the Love of Nature by Teresa Kogut. Last is This I Know by Plum Street.
Bottom Row: Good Marriage by Lizzie Kate, Love is the Key to Happiness, by Teresa Kogut, Veteran’s Day at Twin Gables by Heartstring Samplery and A Sampler for All Seasons by the Scarlett House.
Those still left to be fully finished are:
- Winter Cardinal Etching, which I will probably make into a pillow
- Rooster Alphabet
- Faith, Hope, Peace and Love
- No Bees, No Honey
- The Maker and Mender
- The Red Bird Sampler
- MH 1860
- Hope & Love
- First Corinthians
- A Changed World
- Ellen Carr
- Merry Christmas
- Only One Rose – It’s laced but still not in the frame.
- Christmas Sampler in Red
- Cranberry Christmas – Also laced but not yet in a frame.
- Eliza Stone
Well, that looks to be a few more than the eight projects I thought I had waiting to get framed. I’ll start working on getting those all framed but I’m going to need more walls! 🙂

Beautiful Judy!! It must be very satisfying to see them up on the wall so you can enjoy them and admire your skilled handi work. Great job!

Thank you! I do love having them up on the wall. From my chair, I’m facing them and I’e spent more time looking at them than stitching since we got them up.

You really need to add a picture of Cooper on the wall especially since the two of them spend so much time with you while you are stitching.

I have pictures of Cooper – just need to get one enlarged and frame it. I’m eventually going to have several dachshund stitched pieces and will find a space for a “dachshund wall”.
