We all probably agree that as we get older, time seems to fly by so quickly. This morning I woke up and while I was still there in bed, I thought to myself . . is today Tuesday? No. Can’t be. I went to Nevada yesterday to stitch with Debbie so today has to be Thursday. How did that happen so quickly?
I’m going to have to stop saying “stitch with Debbie” and start saying “talk with Debbie”. The last few times, we’ve talked way more than we stitched.
I had a great idea that wasn’t really so great I suppose. Since I take a table to stitch with Debbie and since it’s usually a project that I only work on when I’m with Debbie, I usually just leave the project bag and the frame with the project on it in my car. It’s rare that I go anywhere in my car any time other than going to stitch with Debbie on Wednesdays. But, I have to get my tablet out because I use that tablet for all my stitching. So, what if I buy a $67 ONN tablet, put one or two projects on it, keep that in the car and I don’t have to keep remembering to put a table in the car before I go to stitch.
I told Vince about my idea last night. He didn’t seem to have any feelings one way or the other about the idea. We ran to Carthage today . . another good idea I’ll tell you about later. He said “Let’s stop at Walmart and look at the tablets. I had already looked online so I knew which one I wanted. Of course, he didn’t think that was a good table. Good grief . . it’s $67. I’m sure there are better but it will work for what I need. He wandered off and came back and said “There’s a Samsung Tab A tablet over here and it will work seamlessly with your Samsung phone.” Hmm . . I don’t really use my phone with the table if I’m just using the tablet to stitch one project. He thought that was a better deal. If I went out of town I might could bring one tablet and not two. OK. I would bring ONE tablet – the one I always bring that has most every project on it that I’m working on. The Samsung tablet cost more than the larger ONN tablet that I’ve been using for stitching for probably a year. The whole point was to get something small and inexpensive. So, we left without a tablet. Forget that idea . . I’ll just keep doing what I was doing.
Next . . the other good idea . . I’m apparently really careless with my phones. They get dropped. They’re in those cases that are supposed to 100% keep the phone from breaking. It isn’t like the phone shatters or cracks . . it just gets slow and then it will shut down and in the middle of something, it freezes and I have to reboot. The other day, not a single cord in house would charge it. The next day, they all seemed to work. We went by Aldi. Cricket is next door. My service is through Cricket. Vince said “Let’s walk over there and see what kind of phones they have that might work for you. I started telling him . . they have the A16. They have an S24. The A16 is less than $150 and it will be fine for what I do. He was surprised I already knew that. We went in, talked to them, went to Aldi. While in in Aldi, he checked the prices at Amazon, decided Cricket’s price was better, went back and got a phone. We got in the car and he said “We should guess how long this phone will last you.” I told him . . for the $140 we paid TOTAL, if it lasts six months I’ll be happy. If it lasts one year, I’ll be double happy. If it lasts 3 months, I’m not going to complain!
This morning the contract for the house repairs came, we signed the contracts, gave him a deposit. He said they’ll be here in 6 – 8 weeks. He’ll call us before the new shingles are delivered. My guess is late September/early October is when we’ll see them start. There are so, so many houses here needing roofs.
We went with pretty close to the same thing we have now. This roof was replaced in 2015 due to hail but the current color has been discontinued. Black Walnut is very close.

I know . . black roof . . but it’s what we have now and it looks good. I asked the guy “How noisy is this going to be?” The dogs were downstairs barking the entire time he was here. He said “NOISY! If I were you, I’d go somewhere for a few days!” Who wants me, Oscar, Cooper and maybe Vince for a few days?” OK .. that’s what I thought! 🙂
That’s all the news I can think of for the moment.

You and Oscar and Cooper are more than welcome to come visit. I have 2 girl doxies and a huge fenced backyard with a doggie door. Bring your cross stitch. I live alone so Vince can come if he cooks or will go pick up takeout! I like your new roof color. We have a nice cross stitch shop 30 minutes away. ????

Thank you! That would be fun. I think we can safely rule out Vince cooking but so long as there’s some place he could stop and shop along the way, he’d be happy to go get pickup for us. Thanks. I had initially picked out a color called Merlot but I think it was too much color so we stuck with what we had. That was a safe choice.

Do want to come to Connecticut? If so I would love all 4 of you to come here. It is beautiful in Connecticut in the fall.

That would be fun!! The trip there with Oscar would NOT be fun . . I don’t have a clue how long it would take to drive from here. Once we drove from Kentucky to upstate NY with Speck. He was a great traveler and even so, that was a LONG trip!

KS is closer. We’ll figure out what to do with those boys!

Oh, that would be FUN!! Yes, KS is MUCH closer. The dogs stay in their crates . . they’re not quiet about it but I wouldn’t let them run loose in someone else’s house!

Y’all are welcome here. The dogs wouldn’t have to be crated.
We had all of the windows (26) replaced the week before last. It was 4 days of noise. I was glad we didn’t have any dogs to keep busy!

We had the windows in the whole house (26) replaced a couple of weeks ago. Four days of noise. I was glad we didn’t have any dogs we needed to keep calm….lol!
