It’s about time to say goodbye to the beautiful, tasty lettuce. Yes, lettuce I pick and eat the same day tasted quite different from most of the lettuce I’ve bought in the grocery store.

Here’s a funny Vince story. Not complaining . . it’s his lack of attention to what I do that keeps me out of trouble (ordering floss, linen and charts – previously yarn and fabric!) 🙂
I was fixing our meal this afternoon and we were having leftover barley, broccoli and chicken casserole. I told him . . there’s two sides, chicken and cheese in it so I’m not fixing anything else. He said “Can we have a salad?” I told him . . sure. I’ll fix a salad. I ran out (in the rain) and grabbed this lettuce. I walked by where he was sitting and showed it to him and said “Is this a gorgeous lettuce?” He looked at me like he was thinking . . what is THAT? I said “What?” He said “We’re growing lettuce?” Hmm . . yes, we’ve been eating lettuce from the garden for about three months!
That probably explains why sometimes I feel like he thinks the garden is a waste of time and money. He has no idea what’s growing out there. On the other hand, I have no idea what he’s doing when he’s in his shop.

What beautiful lettuce, feel sure it made a yummy salad. I saw a XS project listed at 123Stitch and thought about you, “Silver Creek Samplers, called Deputy Doxie’s Posse.” Cute pups with a giggle.
