These last few days have been busy and time has flown by. I can hardly believe it’s Friday . . seems like yesterday was Monday.
Today we have a G.E. rep coming by to look at our fridge. Good timing . . the freezer has completely stopped working and the fridge is hanging at a balmy 50 degrees. I think the freezer is at about 65. If we don’t get some satisfaction from G.E., we’re going to have to bite the bullet and buy a new fridge. This has been going on since February.
There window guy is coming out today too so he can measure the front windows that have to be replaced. We have a time when he will be here . . I just don’t remember what that time is but Vince knows. The fridge guy – it’s just some time between 8 and 5.
Yesterday we went to Nevada, MO. Chad and Nicole were working. Addie was in school. So, we didn’t get to see any of them. We had planned to look at a house not too far from Nevada but there ended up being some potential issues so after talking with our realtor, we all decided to pass on that place. I had come in contact with a lady near there who was making quilts for veterans and I told her I would meet her and give her some red, white and blue fabric so we went ahead and went, met her and gave her the fabric, got a burger at Freddy’s (I love their fries), then came home. On the way home, we went by Marlee’s Creamery and got fresh, raw milk and they happened to have a dozen duck eggs for sale so I bought those. I’m not sure how many they have or how often they have them but I was sure happy to get that last dozen of them.

Here’s a funny story about Marlee’s Creamery. It is definitely off the beaten path and even though we’ve been there probably a dozen times, we still have to use GPS to get there, especially coming from the north. I think we can get there without GPS going from home but . . here’s the funny story.
When we lived in Nevada (from 2007 to 2011), I found about about Marlee’s Creamery. I called and they had milk that day so when Vince got home from work, one cold wintery afternoon, I asked him if we could run to Carthage and get milk. He wasn’t nearly as enthusiastic about that as I was but he agreed to go. By the time we got almost to Carthage, it was dark, had begun sleeting with a bit of snow mixed in. My directions on how to get there would have been poor, at best, in the daylight. At dark, I had no idea how to get there and Vince was NOT happy. By time the time we stopped twice and asked for directions, we got there, it was snowing pretty good and we still had to run in, get our milk and drive an hour back home. Oh, I don’t think we’ve been to Marlee’s since that first night that one of us doesn’t say “Remember that first time we came here?”
After we got home, I was out working in the garden, saw that I had a message from Angie (we bought the house from Angie and Jeremy), she had made cookies and wanted to bring some over. Nice to have friends who bake cookies and share! She came over and we had a nice visit.
Wednesday I spent the day stitching with my friend, Debbie. We ended up talking more than we stitched but it was one of our most fun days. Our days together are always fun. Debbie even commented that we had talked more than we stitched and that was ok. I look so forward to our stitching days.
So, we get through today and then we have a weekend! No plans this weekend as far as I know. We could have storms — a good weekend for sitting inside and stitching.

Hope the refrigerator issue ended up with a SATISFACTORY outcome for y’all!!

Well, it did not! The person G.E. was sending was supposed to be here at 12:15. About noon, Vince got a text . . Sorry, I cannot make it. So, we still have a broken fridge and no idea what’s going to happen. It was kinda funny. This evening I had been outside working and I came in and it felt really cool in the basement garage. I looked at the temp and I was 64 in there. I told Vince . . it’s 1 degree cooler in the garage than it is inside the freezer! That’s really not funny but . . it is what it is right now.

I’m so sorry…..I’m afraid I’d be “spitting nails” by now. It doesn’t seem like they understand that their product isn’t living up to expectations in any way, shape or form :-(.

Right and then to tell us they’ll be here at 12:15 and call and 12:05 and say “not gonna make it!” I’m not going to say too much, hoping they will make it right but I am not happy. Then they tell us to leave it running, even though for days now it’s been 65 in the freezer and 55 in the fridge, because there are diagnostics running. Huh? If they haven’t “diagnosed” the problem by now, chances they aren’t going to and we’re just wasting electricity.

I love Freddies fries, too. When I’m in a “treat myself” mood, I get a very small turtle sundae.

Vince got ice cream yesterday but I passed on that.

You know Freddy’s started here! I’m not that fond of it but have one friend who is. So l do go occasionally. The ice cream treats are good!!! Sorry about the fridge, been there too.

I didn’t know they started there but I guess I should have. I had never seen one til we lived in MO the first time and ate at the one o=in Pittsburg, KS. There’s one in Joplin but it’s on the other side from where we live so we’ve never been. I’m in Nevada enough that I can get my Freddy’s fix there.

Judy, I thought of you last night as I caught a documentary on Netflix called “The Quilters.” If you have access to Netflix I highly recommend watching it. It’s from the prison in Licking, Missouri (high security) where only guys that have not been written up for anything (mostly old guys) are allowed and have developed a quilt making shop where they design and make quilts for mainly foster children given on their birthdays. It really is a feel good documentary and I had such a good feeling I watched it twice!

Thank you. I’ve never heard about that place. We do have Netflix so I’ll watch it.
