My goal was to get this finished by the end of March and I made it!

Some of my colors are different – maybe all of them. I used Vikki Clayton silks and I did the conversion myself. I had to change a few colors (the letters in the verse) because the sulks that were close to the called for colors didn’t show up on the linen.
Also, I made the mistake at the top and started the center bird too far over to the right. That bird and tree should have been farther to the left so I had to change a few things. I ended up adding the branch with the flowers over my initials because there seemed to be a void there.
I’m happy with it and happy to have it finished.
As always, if you see anything I’ve missed, please let me know.
I did find a thrifted frame that I have here that is a perfect fit. The frame is black and I had planned to paint it brown with some gold rubbed on it here and there. A friend on FB thought the black looked blue and that makes me wonder if I should paint the frame blue. Hadn’t thought of that. Thoughts?

The good thing about a wood frame is that I can paint it and re-paint it if I’m not happy with it.
I’m going to use the bottom half of this linen (Fox & Rabbit’s Duxbury) for another project so it will have to be finished before I can frame Maker and Mender because I’m too lazy to remove the linen from the frame, cut off Maker and Mender, then re-load the linen on the frame. I should be ashamed to be so lazy . . but I’m not!

It looks like a dark sky blue to me too. Brings out the blue in this piece. I like it.

Good job I like the frame without painting looks perfect

It really is very black. The lighting made it look blue. I will start by painting it a deep royal/navy blue and we’ll go from there.

I thought it looked blue. Blue would be very pretty.

I agree, it looks blue to me, and it really compliments the stitching! Blue would be a great choice.

I, too, thought the frame was blue. I like it! Great job on the stitching.

I thought it was blue too. I think blue would be pretty with the gold rubbed on it.

Love the frame you chose, and the imperfections are even better as it doesn’t look ‘new’. Brings out that lovely shade of blue, too.

Agree that it’s blue. A similar shade would be perfect!

The blue will look great – I think it will make the blue stitching pop.

It turned out beautiful!

It’s a beautiful piece. A blue frame will complement it well, as many have said. Gold not needed IMO.

Thanks.

For once I go with the crowd! Blue should look nice.
BTW, you are the LAST person I would call lazy! (Oh, possibly next-to-last).

Thanks (for both statements). I am surprised that EVERYONE sees that frame as blue but i’m glad because I think that’s an excellent choice for the frame color. Can’t wait to go to Hobby Lobby to get paint and try it but we have bad weather today and tomorrow and I do not go to Joplin on weekends so hopefully next week I’ll get a chance to get out. Maybe I should just order the paint from Amazon!
Some days I am lazy! : (

Beautiful piece. I think a dark slate blue for the frame.
