The Maker and Mender will be finished before dinner today. I think I probably have about two hours left to work on it.
There have been several pieces I’ve stitched that called for Algerian Eyelets. I’ve always started them but they looked bad and I would rip them out and make plain “X” stitches. In this one, it calls for the initials to be Algerian Eyelet. I had already planned to make a plain “X” and be done with it but last night I decided . . today is the day! I watched Nicola Parkman’s video and was totally confused. There are plenty of videos but the way she does it, she stitches half, then comes back to make the other half. Part of me wanted to give up but I kept saying “You can do this!” After about the 5th time I watched it (and seriously, it is NOT hard . . don’t know why I was so confused!), I stitched a few in the edge of the fabric and I think I got it!

Not perfect but for the first time, they actually look good enough that I’m happy to leave them in there.
Hopefully you will see this piece finished before this day is over.
Oops, there’s a missing leg on one of the eyelets on the “J”. Going to fix that now.
