This will be finished by the end of the day on Saturday . . I hope. Speaking of Saturday and let’s add Sunday in there too . . the weather here may be scary. The news is kinda reminding me of how they were talking a few days before the Joplin tornado and that makes me nervous. The reason I brought that up is because when I wrote “I will finish this on Saturday”, I realized I should have said . . so long as we have electricity and I can use my magnifying lamp! So . . let’s hope there are no tornadoes anywhere this weekend.

There’s really not much left to do and if I had about five hours of uninterrupted time, this will be finished!

The “BS” to the left of the star is for my grandma’s initials. I think Brenda Gervais (designer of this chart) stitched her mother’s initials and wrote about her mother teaching her to sew on buttons at a very young age. For me, it was my grandma, and those are her initials. I think she would have done anything to keep me occupied and out of trouble so she was quite pleased when, at a very young age, she sat me down with an embroidery hoop, a needle and floss and taught me how to do embroidery. From that day forward, that’s all I wanted to do in the evenings when I had to come inside from playing outside. Sit and stitch! She then taught me to crochet, which I didn’t like nearly as much as the embroidery. Would I ever have fallen in love with needlework/sewing had it not been for my grandma’s encouragement? I have no idea but I will always be thankful that she planted that seed. My sewing, quilting, knitting, stitching has brought me great fun and brought many friends, as well as blog readers, into my life.
Those initials were my first time to stitch one over one. I stitched the “B” first and debated about whether I would rip it out and just do an outline stitch for the initials. I stuck with it . . because you know how I am <G> . . and the “S” looked so much better. I ended up ripping the horrible looking “B” and re-stitching it. The good news is that I don’t really dislike one over one stitching!
This is pretty, don’t you think?

Very pretty! I need to get back to work on mine. I bought a new bed and chair for my bedroom and had to move everything around. I wanted the new chair so that I can do my stitching in the bedroom in peace and quiet. It’s hard to count stitches when the tv is practically next to my ear and the husband is talking to and screaming at all the sports games. So much better to be alone upstairs!

I do agree about being far from the TV. Our only TV is in the basement, which is where I mostly stay with the dogs. I watch a few floss tubes but that’s about it. If Vince is downstairs, the TV is one . . that’s something he loves so I try to keep quiet about it but I do understand!
I hope you love your new chair and bed. For me, it’s easier to find a mattress I love than it is to find a chair I love.
