Today was such a good day here.
First, Chad was here about 8 a.m. with his pickup and trailer to help Vince empty out a storage building. When we started in October, 2020, we had three 10 x 20 storage buildings rented. At some point, we emptied one – probably when Vince got his shop finished here at the house. That was maybe in May or June of 2021 and since then, we’ve had two storage buildings. We actually still have two because we rented a 10 x 15 in Chad’s town. I’m not sure what the plan is but at one point, Vince said we would move there if we could find a house. Now he says no, not moving again. Doesn’t actually matter to me. So Vince and Chad worked until about noon and emptied out one of the units. Then they came to the house, left Chad’s pickup and trailer and we all went to eat Chinese. I love Addie and Nicole but I love to get to spend a few minutes with Chad.
The second thing is that we had a new radio put in my old car. I didn’t have a backup camera. I didn’t have a screen for directions. Now I have XM (which I thought we weren’t getting), the screen, driving directions, it will read my email, I can play audio books from my phone through the radio. I got all new speakers, which required all the wiring being changed. I’m sure 99% of y’all have that kind of radio but my car is 18 years old. I’ve never had a backup camera. I can already see that’s going to be very useful. I figured if Vince isn’t going to ever get a new car, I’d at least get some new technology.
Once we got home, Chad left and Vince and I went to Atwoods to get more seed starter and to get a few seeds that I need. When we got home, I got one bed planted in collards, got some collards seeds in starter cups for Chad to plant in a couple of months. I have lots of seeds to get started but I’m going to wait til tomorrow or Sunday and do it in the greenhouse where it’s easier to clean up my mess.
As soon as Chad and Vince left to go to the storage building, I cracked 8 dozen eggs, whipped them up and got them in the freeze dryer.
Now . . I sit and stitch til bed time . . I hope.

My mom and I went out to lunch last week and we were talking about how nice it is to get to spend time with your kids one on one. I love my granddaughters but I love spending time with just my kids. With my mom being 89 I should spend more time with her one on one as well too, who knows how much longer I’ll have her!

Right! I’m sure your mom LOVES the time she gets to spend one on one with you. Every time I’ve spent good time with Chad, I recall that my grandparents moved down near where we lived when Chad was an infant. When he started kindergarten, we would stop by my grandparents often on the way home. As we were leaving, she would always say “Y’all come back any time!” I know she wanted to say “Will you come back tomorrow?” Now that I know how it feels, I wish I had stopped by every single day!

Sounds like a very busy day indeed! I just realized tomorrow is March 1 – I still need to pick a fabric for The Maker and the Mender. I may go crazy and use a colored fabric rather than similar to what it is shown on.

Do it! I think it’s fun to choose different colors. When I see what you’re using, I’ll probably wish I had used something different.
