Yesterday all of my stitching time was devoted to working on New Year Sampler by Owl Forest.

I don’t even remember what all I added. I think it was the 4th rose at the bottom, the top right motif. I believe the “4” and the “C” were already there but maybe not. The top right motif is the far right edge.

Then I went back to the left side and am working my way towards the bottom. As soon as I get to the bottom, I will know the exact measurements and can be thinking about a frame.

I started the “stem” with the red heart and there will be birds there. I added the “3”. There doesn’t seem to be a 3 charted. I’ve seen where some people added at the bottom, which makes me think they didn’t realize it wasn’t there til the got to the bottom so I wanted to get the 3 in before I forgot to do it. I left off a snowflake and put the 3 where that should have been. I’m not crazy about the white snowflakes stitched on this piece. I’ll add them when I have to but if there’s anything else I can insert in place of them, I’ll do that.
This is an enjoyable stitch for me. I love finishing up a motif and now that I’m as far along as I am (which isn’t that far!), there are several places I can work so if there’s something big coming up next and I’d rather stitch smaller motifs, I can skip around. Also, if I have a long piece of red floss on the needle, I can probably find something red to stitch so as to save me one time of changing floss. I know . . it takes 5 seconds but to change the floss. Just shake your head at the stupid things I do and say “Good job, Judy!” 🙂
