Remember when Chad hit a deer with his green pickup? It was in August and I wrote about it in this post.
It could have been much worse. You can see that he ended up on the wrong side of the road so there could have been an accident if someone was coming right then. He said he felt the truck start to roll and couldn’t believe it didn’t. He did not have full cover insurance since the truck is a 2001 model and the repairs were going to cost way more than the truck was worth. The driver’s side was damaged all the way back to the door. The air bag deployed. The radiator, grill and hood were ruined. I think it was the power steering pump – some kind of pump that was ruined so Chad decided to get a newer used pickup.
We were so lucky that Vince found one here from our mechanic. Chad, Nicole and Addie love it! It has 4 doors, is four wheel drive and has many features not on a 2001 model.
Chad got the newer pickup and then two of his friends said “Piece of cake! We can fix the green truck.” Chad ended up paying them and they probably still spent more than the truck is worth but now he has a backup pickup. I don’t think he liked driving Vince’s 1996 Chevy S-10 for a couple of months until he got the white truck. It won’t be THAT long before Addie is driving and Chad said she will get the green truck. She insists she will get the white truck and Chad can keep the green truck. I’m betting on Addie getting the white truck! I still be at least three years before she’s driving.
This leaves Chad with three pickups and Nicole’s SUV. He surely doesn’t need that many vehicles but . . it’s one of those things that just happened. My uncle had my Grandpa’s old Chevy pickup. He had it fully restored and gave it to Chad. I went back on the blog to get a picture of Pop’s old truck and I can’t believe that was in 2021 that Chad went to Louisiana and picked up the truck. The green pickup was worth fixing. Chad said it drives great and he is going to work on getting it restored back to 2001 (when it was new) condition. I’m thinking he and Addie may be able to do that together and maybe that will make her not mind driving it. That’s their issue . . not mine so I’m not real concerned about what Addie drives. 🙂
