One thing I’ve learned with this latest project, Only Once, is that I do NOT like stitching four stitches and changing thread. Give me a big red house with a grassy lawn any day.
One of the major changes I want to make in 2025 is to buy fewer charts and only buy things I intend to start stitching within a week or two of purchasing them. No more buying, filing and never seeing or thinking about it again. The last few days I’ve been in a mood to stitch something Valentine’s Day related. That kind of thinking isn’t really in line with “less starts and more finishes” in 2025 but you know how it is when the urge strikes to get something new.
I’ve about decided that with the mail issues I’m having lately, I’m getting pdf charts only and using stash floss and fabric. I found several pdf charts on Etsy and had them in my cart but none of them were screaming “Start me NOW”. I went to Facebook to see if there was anything I needed, and of course, there was!
Lori from Homespun Prims had posted a note about her first 2025 release, My Heart My Home.
As soon as I saw it, I knew that was exactly what I was looking for. It doesn’t scream Valentine’s Day so I could leave it out longer but it will go nicely with Valentine’s Day decorating . There aren’t a million color changes. Perfect.
Here’s what I’m thinking – if there’s enough room, and I think there will be, on the linen once I finish the current project, I will stitch it on the 46 count linen with Vikki Clayton’s silks. It would be 3-1/8″ x 2-3/4″ on 46 count linen. It looks like it would be way bigger, doesn’t it? On 28 count, it would be 5-1/8 x 4-3/8″. I’m not one to stitch the same thing twice but I might consider stitching this on 28 count and using Flower Thread. Yes, I have that floss here too. 🙂
Anyone want to stitch this with me?
One last thing – for anyone using MarkUp-R XP, Lori’s charts are always perfect. I’ve never had to do any tweaking or “re-calculating grid”. Import and start. Love those kinds of charts.
