Yesterday I was upstairs canning and Vince and the dogs were downstairs watching football. I sounded what heard like a bit more “serious” rant going on downstairs. I wasn’t sure if one of Vince’s teams was not playing well or if it was one of the dogs so I stopped what I was doing, and went downstairs to see if I needed to intervene. Nope . . there had been a bug on the TV screen. Vince grabbed one of my project bags to swat the bug. The project bag contained one of the hard plastic cases that I keep the Vikki Clayton floss in and he halfway killed the bug and pretty much fully killed the TV.
Since it is just a bit over a year old, he was able to get online, and order the same one from Walmart. As soon as the canning project was finished, we went to get it but he hasn’t changed it yet. It’s on the wall and not hard to change but not at easy as sitting one on a table.
Remember – Vince is an engineer with degrees from Georgia Tech, Clemson and Tulane.
He read that holding a blow dryer on it for 15 minutes might fix it. Nope, that didn’t work.
Then he read that rubbing it for 45 minutes might fix it. That didn’t work.
Nothing fixed it. I think it’s time to accept that this one is not going get fixed and put the new one up.

Oh dear!! What next?? At least it was something that can fairly easily be replaced… and I’ll bet he thinks twice before picking up one of your bags to use as a fly swatter!! LOL!

Hopefully he won’t touch the screen again. Thankfully TVs are fairly inexpensive these days. The new one is up so all is well. We’ve laughed about the Door Dash commercial where a lady gets bug spray delivered so I told him “Next time you see a bug, call Door Dash!”

My daughter hit our TV with a barbie and we were told to turn it off, flip it upside down and wait like 24 hours. It didn’t work either. Had to buy a new one. Ha. Wasn’t funny then and isn’t now still.

Of course Vince took it all apart this afternoon. Apparently there were two layers of “glass”. The top layer felt fine but it was the second layer that was cracked so no amount of rubbing or blow drying was going to fix it.
Oh, I hope your daughter didn’t get in too much trouble for that incident. I’m just happy the big TVs are now a tiny fraction of what they once cost.

Bummer! Was he able to finish watching the football game (s)?

Yes, and I watched YouTube for a while last night. Makes you want to keep wiping your eyes but it was fine.
