This is another recipe (pork chops). We had it yesterday and it is one I recommend and we will have this one again.

The pork chops were really good and there was a “sauce” that we put over orzo. We also had purple sweet potatoes and fried green tomatoes. I’m guessing I will be very tired of purple sweet potatoes very soon. Every time we have them, Vince says “I LOVE these purple potatoes.” I just say “I’m glad”. I like them ok but baked potatoes with butter and sour cream are my favorite.

Those home grown potatoes have all kinds of shapes. The one Vince had was kinda normal. The one I had was skinny and so long I had to cut it in half to get it into the steamer. The half on my plate was more than I needed. They really are pretty.
We probably have enough green tomatoes that we can have them a couple more times over the next few days. The sweet potatoes . . probably enough for at least two years but they won’t last that long. I may end up making some sweet potato pie filling and freeze drying that . . just to use up some of them.
Today I will be making salt rising bread. The starter has been “brewing” for about 1-1/2 days but it looks like it’s ready to use.

..We had fried green tomatoes Wednesday night at a restaurant in Eufaula, AL. I’m positive they breaded and frozen. They were delicious. The tomatoes were tender and the cornmeal breading was crispy.

That’s interesting. I guess I should try doing that. Thanks!
