Chad, Nicole and Addie were here Sunday and we were all sitting and talking and Addie said “Oh, let me show you this house I want!” Chad was shaking his head. He said Addie checks the real estate listings several times a day. She’s looking for a farm. She said she wants a Highland cow, goats and chickens! Chad was just shaking his head and I was cracking up. She’s definitely giving him a taste of what it was like for us with him growing up.
I think it’s hilarious that she’s the one online looking at the real estate listings. I asked her what kind of kitchen she wants and she said “I don’t care about the kitchen! I just want farm animals!” 🙂
Chad told her – if you get them, you’re the one going to take care of them. You going to be out milking a cow before school in the snow? You the one going to be out taking care of the chickens when it’s almost dark and there’s ice on the ground? She said “Everyone else does it . . I can too!”
It isn’t going to happen . . I don’t think but I definitely understand. I always wanted to live on a farm so Addie talking about it made me laugh. Watching Chad defend his position was funny to watch too. 🙂

Does Nicole just stay out of the middle of it? LOL If I were her, I would sit back and watch and laugh.

Yes, Chad and Addie were halfway joking about who was going to milk the cow and trim the goats’ hooves, etc. Nicole is pretty easy going. Chad rarely argues with Addie. She comes up with a crazy idea and he asks equally crazy questions and it can turn into a long, hilarious ordeal.

If Addie has Instagram she needs to follow Ruth Zimmerman. She lives in Iowa, and they do milk cows in the middle of blizzards, and chickens, and everything else. She might get a “taste” of what it is like watching her videos–especially in the middle of winter. Oh and she does have a Highland cow. I’d love to have that also, but I also know the commitment, and I know I just don’t have it in me any more to do stuff like that, so I just watch videos of others doing it. And house hunting, well my daughter and I watch all of these posts with old homes, with beautiful wood all over the house and ohh and ahh over it–then we figure who’s on the dusting committee, or if they have more than 2 bathrooms, who is on latrine duty. Let her dream. One thing that doesn’t cost any money.

I love the Zimmermans but Addie doesn’t have IG. I’ll have to be sure and show her next time she’s here. Thanks.

Yes maam you need to, especially when it is on school days way before breakfast the children are out there in the winter coats milking the cows and tending the animals prior to going to school. Let her know what reality looks like. I am in awe of all they do, but I am sitting in my warm house as they do all of that.

LOL! Don’t you love it when the karma train makes a stop? My 12-year-old granddaughter was telling me the other day that she thinks she wants a Mercedes when she turns 16. She’s going to get a job when she’s 14 and save her money! LOL!! Remember Art Linkletter and “kids say the darndest things”?

Oh, my! That’s so funny. And I can just see how serious she was when she said that.
