This is a chart I’m stitching along with Sarah from Handmade by Sarah W. The chart can be purchased at most shops but a PDF can be purchased from the designer at Etsy.
I will say that the photo on the chart didn’t really speak to me but it intrigued me. I just can’t make out a whole lot of it so it’s almost a mystery to me. There are a couple of tan/beige colored flosses, a pale yellowish gold, and a brown so, as I wrote yesterday, I struggled with finding a linen on which the floss would show up.
I had been trying to find a tan or brown or light taupe color but it just wasn’t working so I went wild and chose a green! It’s a bit different to be using the green but I had it in the stash and felt like this might be a good time to try it.
Yesterday morning I started stitching and the first two colors I used just weren’t showing up to my satisfaction.
On the bottom and along the right side is a gold and the other stitches are a pale green. I was at the point where I knew I was going to have to change some floss colors.
The bobbin on the left is the Vikki Clayton conversion from the called for color Gentle Art Chamomile and Vikki’s color is WindSwept. Her colors are always 100% correct matches to the other colors.
The second color I changed is a bit more drastic change and I did that because of the green fabric. The floss on the left Sage Oil which is Vikki’s conversion from Gentle Art Endive. The color I chose to use is SeaWrack 3435. I’m pleased with these colors.
My progress yesterday was working on one of the birds. Mostly, I like stitching larger swatches of colors and, while this bird isn’t considered “confetti” stitching, I had to closely follow the chart and count several times. I thought I wasn’t going to like it but I’ve enjoyed stitching it.
I may work on the bird some today. If so, I could probably finish that one bird but I have a couple of other charts I’d like to work on.

Excellent progress and love your color choice. I’ve been eyeing up a bird chart I’ve been wanting to start. Birds are so fun to stitch.
