Today, I got a good lesson in perspective, of sorts.
Vince had something he wanted to do in Neosho today so I went along for the ride. He asked if I wanted to go to the flea market there. He said “It’s Chad’s favorite flea market!” You have to understand Chad has never been in a flea market he didn’t love so my expectations were not real high but I agreed to go.
When we walked in, I knew I was in trouble. We walked in the door and I went one way and Vince went the other way. About the only thing I’m ever looking for is frames for finishing cross stitching. I never look at what’s in the frame . . it’s just the frame that catches my eye. The first thing I saw was this gorgeous frame.
It was way up high. There was a tall chest and this was sitting on it, leaning against a wall. There were several glass things sitting on top of the chest and there were things on the floor in front of the chest. I could have started to reach it and I doubt Vince could have either but he wasn’t with me. I figured when I got back to the customer service desk, I would ask them for help getting it down.
Then, I saw a tall man – a very tall man. I said “Would you be willing to reach something high up for me?” He said sure! I told him . . if you aren’t comfortable doing it, I’ll get someone who works here to get it. He said “Where is it?” We were just one booth down from it so he stepped into the aisle and I said “That frame above the chest.” He looked that way and then gave me a puzzled look. I said “The frame above the gray travel case.” He said “The mirror?” Yes! The mirror . . in a frame! 🙂
He saw a frame. I saw a mirror!
I think it’s so pretty!
I found seven frames that I should be able to use – some of them for projects already stitched I hope.
This little black one will be easy to use. The red one, is a deeper red than it looks but I can rub it with black or gold or repaint it . . so much of what I stitch has red in it so I thought this would be a good investment.
This is a frame Vince found and I like it. The mirror was $17 but the others were mostly in the $5 – 7 range. Can’t beat that!
I also saw this headboard, footboard and chest..
I have no class but I love it. I took Vince to see it and he said “Please don’t tell me you like that!” I said “I LOVE it!” He said “NO!” I wasn’t even thinking about getting it but I do love it.

That bed set is so unusual…I bet it would be cute in the right kid’s room….kind of a Alice in Wonderland looking!

I must say I have to agree with Vince on the weird chest! 🙂 🙂 But the mirror was very pretty!

I think you mean to say that you saw a frame and he saw a mirror. Cute story, either way.

Is the headboard wider than the footboard? I suppose that could be a “statement” piece (it certainly does make a statement!)
I’m remembering once, back when you were quilting, that you worked in “clown colors.”* The bed set kind of works with that…
*Apologies to Vince if you had forgotten that until I brought it up! 😉
