Before I get to the recipe link, this was made in the Ninja Combi. This is the model I have. This is an affiliate link. If you want to buy one, don’t feel like you have to get it through the link but, if you do, I earn a very small commission. There are other models. I LOVE this little appliance. It has so many features and everything I’ve tried has worked like a champ. I love it more today than I did yesterday because of how easy it was to make this Baked Ziti.
Here’s the recipe I followed. Here’s the companion video.
I used storebought marinara (Rao’s) and followed the recipe exactly. You don’t even cook the pasta first!
This is what it looked like with one portion removed. I wanted y ou to be able to see the insides of it too. It was perfect! The pasta was perfectly cooked. It wasn’t too “saucy”. It was really just perfect. Vince couldn’t believe the pasta went in uncooked and it was all cooked in the Combi. I used 1 lb. ground beef, 1 package (maybe 12 or 16 oz. – didn’t pay any attention) of Italian sausage.
Vince loved it! I asked him if he would be happy having this every Sunday instead of spaghetti and meatballs and he said yes! He said as a kid, every time they went to an Italian restaurant, he got baked ziti.
We both ate what we wanted, then I divided what was left into four containers. Each container will have enough for both of us for one meal with enough left for Vince to have more for another meal so that pan made 14 servings for us. This is for sure going to be something I make over and over.
I’m sure this could easily be made using the stove and/or oven if you don’t have a Combi or don’t want a Combi. The recipe may even tell you how to do that . . I didn’t pay attention to that if it was there.
