It seems that no matter what my plans for the day are, I never get started stitching til about 5 p.m. If we go to town and shop or have appointments, I don’t get started til around 5. If I get up, thinking I’ll be stitching by 10 a.m., I don’t get started til 5 p.m. The dogs are usually needy because I’ve either been upstairs cooking, doing laundry, cleaning, or we’ve been gone or I’ve been out working in the yard and they’ve been in their crates.
Yesterday, the new fridge arrived about 9 a.m. I had to take everything out of the other one, then put everything back in the new one. I cooked, went back out in the garden and worked for a while. The grow bags doing hold moisture well and I have to water at least twice a day.
Oscar loves asparagus and while it’s growing, he tells me he has to go outside about 30 times a day but really, he just wants to go out and find asparagus. I can’t say no when he tells me he has to go out . . I’m a sucker!
All that to say . . I’m doubting I’ll finish this by June 15 as I had hoped. I’m going to stick with it til it’s finished but there’s still a lot of stitching to be done – more than I anticipated looking at the chart. I’m loving how it’s turning out and will be happy to get it finished.

Love the “quilty” look to the section you are working on.

That’s going to be so pretty! What kind of stitch did you say that was?

Judy, I had hand surgery to remove a bone and can no longer do hand applique, so I’m trying cross stitch. I do like it but I have a question. How do you follow a pattern? Do you do one color, then another, or do you change colors every line? And do you mark it off the pattern once its finished? If I mark the pattern up, I feel like I can’t pass it on or use it again! Frustrated in FL! Diane K.

I’ll write a blog post about it and try to cover all your questions. Good luck.
