Watching floss tubes can sometimes cause me to buy things I wouldn’t normally buy.
Yesterday I was watching Tara Sullivan of Sully’s Stitches -this video, I wanted to stitch almost everything she showed. Of course, buying charts definitely does not mean they will get stitched!
The first one is Uber Jack by Bent Creek. I’m not a fan of Halloween but this one is cute enough that I could keep it out for a month or so. I thought of changing the words to “Happy Fall, Y’all!” but it’s pretty clearly Halloween with the jack-o-lantern and the black cat.
The called for fabric is 18 or 20 count linen or 10 count Aida stitched with #5 perle cotton or multiple stands (6 maybe??) of DMC. The stitch count is 98 x 121 so if I stitch it on 40 count linen, it would be about 5 x 6″. If I stitch it on 36 count linen, it would be about 5-1/2 x 6-3/4″. I have some wooden pumpkins I bought on sale last year and I think they may work for this piece. By using either 36 or 40 count linen, I can use one strand of floss.
The second one thing is a chart I already have so I ordered floss for it. It’s Perfect Pumpkin by Bent Creek. If it’s stitched on 36 count linen, it will be 3-1/2 x 8-1/2″. I had seen this one a floss tube probably a year ago and loved it. After seeing Tara’s stitched, I hope to get it stitched by Fall.
