There’s a cute little needlework shop in Granby, MO – With Needle and Thread. They’re a small shop but they have TONS of charts and so many stitched samples. They have linen and they have DMC and Weeks’ Dye Works floss, as well as some specialty floss. They had ordered a few things for me so I drove down to visit them today. I added a couple of charts to the stash.
They had a stitched sample of this one and it reminds me of something from the 80’s. There’s a Raggedy Ann for the “A”, a Teddy Bear for the “B”, another Raggedy Ann type doll for the “D”, the stuffed rabbit for the “R” looks a bit retro, primitive hearts for the “V”. The chart made me smile.
This one is 4th of July Rules by Primrose Cottage. They have Christmas Rules, Hive (home) Rules, Autumn Rules . . maybe more. I had this 4th of July piece in my cart several times so I figured seeing it there meant I should buy it . . and I did.
It’s not much more than half an hour from here to the shop and I don’t have to get on crazy I-44 so it’s a perfect little trip for me.
Vince stayed home and he said he spent some time with the dogs and he was amazed how upset and frustrated they both are when I’m away. I hate that they’re like that but I just don’t leave the house that much and I’m not going to go out just so they can learn to be happy when I’m away. I think they do fine when we’re both gone but Vince is never downstairs when I’m not there so that was unusual for them. They were happy to see me. The funny thing is they’re just as happy to see me if I’ve been outside for 30 minutes to water the garden or if I’ve been away for 5 or 6 hours. Heck . . when I go to the bathroom, if I close the door, when I come out, they’re both right there by the door and so excited to see me. It’s so nice to be loved. 🙂

Is the Cowboy ok with that? I know he wanted a puppy. I sometimes think Vince is a bit sad that Cooper doesn’t sit with him more. I think Cooper is attached to Oscar and wherever Oscar is sitting, that’s where Cooper is going to be. It isn’t so much that Cooper loves me. Oscar would never admit it but he loves Cooper too. When Oscar doesn’t see Cooper or know where he is, Oscar gets upset quickly.

Judy I stitched the Cricket chart as a shop model when I worked at a cross stitch shop in St. Paul. MN in the 80’s. Have always loved their charts.
