Yesterday I was going to get “No Bees, No Honey” kitted. I knew I didn’t have all the called for Gentle Arts floss and I figured that was a good time to match up some Victorian Motto floss and use that. I have ordered quite a bit of floss from them through the years and have always been happy with them. Their skeins have 20 yards and there are so many colors.
Most often, their floss is sold in collections of 7 skeins or 20 skeins or 40 skeins – just any number of skeins. When it would arrive, I would put it in a storage ottoman in the sewing room. Every now and then I would need a color and I’d go digging in the ottoman and find what I need. Every time I dive into that ottoman, I tell myself I need to organize that floss but I never do it.
Yesterday, I did it!
I dumped all that floss on the bed, sorted it into colors – reds, greens, blues, browns, etc. – it all went into one big pile per color. Then I went back and divided the reds into orange-ish reds, pink-ish reds, blue-ish reds, etc. and ended up getting it all on rings.
There was a lot more floss there than I thought and it took from about 1 p.m. til after 4 p.m. to get it all done.
I was lucky I had enough rings!
Once all the floss was on rings, I hung it in the stash closet.
So much easier to find what I’m looking for. Why did I wait so long to do this?

Congratulations on getting them sorted. Now they look beautiful and can cheer your heart just looking at them… and yes, that really is a lot of floss!
