I was afraid to look to see when was the last time I had posted but it hasn’t been that long ago. I posted on the 20th, and until 12 minutes ago, it was the 23rd.
I was sick for 1-1/2 days and, for anyone who knows me, sick means let me sleep 24/7. Sunday afternoon Vince came downstairs and I was asleep sitting on the sofa. I can never sleep sitting up. I remember thinking I was really tired . . both dogs were asleep on or close to my lap and I guess I just made myself comfortable and went to sleep. That night, about 8 p.m., I took a shower. When I got out, Vince said “I think you must be sick!” I kinda agreed with him so I went to bed. It was cold . . I think that night it was 32 degrees, but it wasn’t terribly cold in the house. I was freezing and got up twice and got extra quilts. At 3 a.m., I woke up with a headache, checked my temp and I had just a little fever. I went back to bed and slept til 8, which is pretty late for me. I fixed breakfast for Vince and then went back to bed and slept about 4 hours, heated up leftovers for lunch, tried to eat and couldn’t so I went back to bed and slept til about 6 p.m. I opened a jar of split pea soup, thinking that sounded good but that didn’t work either so I went back to bed, woke up with a headache again during the night, took aspirins, went back to sleep and woke up Tuesday morning feeling normal. Crazy, huh?
Yesterday Vince and I were talking and I said “Do you know the date?” He said “I think it’s the 18th?” I started laughing and he said “What’s so funny?” I said “I don’t have a clue what the date is but I know it’s after the 20th.” I looked at my phone and it was the 23rd.
After the 32 degree night Sunday, we should be fine for planting everything in the garden. Yesterday I started planting some of the tomatoes in grow bags, and planted one tub of sweet potatoes. It was some of the slips that had been in water and had lots of roots but had not yet been planted in soil. I’ll see how they do and if they look like they’re going to make it, I’ll plant the others that have been in water directly into their locations.
I had covered all the “tender” plants and a few of the potato tops looked damaged and about half of my beans didn’t look too good so I replanted more seeds yesterday. It’s supposed to rain a good bit over the next few days so I’m going to put down some blood meal on the garlic and onions today.
Other than lots of sleeping, a little gardening and too little stitching . . not much going on around here.
