We get our teeth cleaned and x-rays from the local hygienist school. Since it’s a teaching school, the appointments begin at 8:30 and end about 3:30 with 1-1/2 hours for lunch. Today Vince had his appointment. I had almost a whole day to myself. I had a stitchy zoom meet up that was going to be about 1-1/2 hours and then I planned to sit and stitch and watch flosstube and maybe a chick flick or two. I did plan to run to Popeye’s for lunch. I love their chicken and red beans and rice and it isn’t Vince’s favorite place.
When I woke up about 5:30 a.m., there was no internet. No problem. I could sit and stitch. Vince called the internet company and was told it would be fixed by 11 a.m. I walked to the end of the driveway where I can get a weak cell phone signal, called the lady hosting the zoom meet up and let her know I wouldn’t be able to participate. Vince left and I started stitching. After about 20 minutes of no TV, no music, no phone, no internet, I thought . . heck, I’ll just take a nap so I did . . slept almost two hours. Woke up, started stitching, walked to the end of the driveway to make sure there weren’t any phone calls I needed to return and while I was out there, Vince called. He was taking his lunch break and wanted to know if I wanted Popeye’s. WHAT?? Yes! He went by and got Popeye’s and brought it home for lunch. Then he said “If you want to go get tacos tonight, it’s Taco Tuesday.” I said “Where would we go? He said “Ghetto Taco!” That’s my favorite taco place and he never wants to go there. I’m wondering if he’s done something and he’s trying humor me before telling me. Something has to be up with him going to two places in one day that I know aren’t his favorites.
It was 1:30 when the internet came back on.
I did get a few hours of stitching done. Yesterday I had finished the top left block except for the background on the text box. Today I stitched the borders on both bottom boxes and a bit more on the left bottom block.
You may remember that I was going to stitch my initials in a different color. I stitched the “L” in the normal color . . like it wasn’t even part of my initials, so went ahead and stitched the “J” in the same color.
I will keep stitching this evening . . after we go get our tacos before Vince changes his mind. 🙂

That’s exactly what I did. Can’t ask for more than (1) not having to cook the entire day and (2) getting to eat at two places I love.
