There’s a fleece type pink blanket that I keep on the sofa in the basement and that’s what I use to cover my legs and feet on chilly nights when I’m sitting and stitching. Both dogs love it but Cooper wants to chew on it . . and everything else. When they’re sitting on my lap, I let them cover up with it but I don’t leave it out for them to use it any other time.
If Cooper can see it on the sofa, he’ll pull it down and either try to play tug-o-war with it with Oscar or he’ll curl up and lay on it. I wouldn’t mind him having a soft fleece blanket except he will chew it up and that’s probably not so good for his digestion.
When I start to take my shower, I put them in their crates and I usually don’t come back and check on them but last night I needed to see if there were any floss colors I needed for the project I want to start next week. Don’t ask me why I had to do that last night but I did.
The blanket had fallen on the floor and I hadn’t noticed and it must have been just within reach of Cooper’s little short legs because he managed to pull it into his crate and was curled up on it. I hated to take it from him but . . I knew by morning, he would have shredded it.
Some day he’ll stop chewing and I’ll get him a soft blanket.
