These two little dogs keep me busy but they are so cute when they get tired and sleepy.
They just keep getting closer as the night goes on.
While I was trying to get a picture, I disturbed Cooper and he moved a bit but Oscar was out.
I’m so surprised at how much Oscar puts up with from Cooper. Oscar is NOT a patient boy but he seems very tolerant, especially when he’s tired and you’d think he would be more grumpy and less tolerant when he’s tired.
Oscar has to go to the vet today and I’m anxious to see how Cooper reacts to Oscar leaving and him being home alone. Their crates are right next to each other and this may be the first time, at least in a long time, since Cooper has been left alone. We went to Branson in November just for the day to visit my uncle who was there. Oscar stayed home and we took Cooper. We had planned to take them both but Oscar flipped out and was so crazy in the car, before we ever got out of the driveway, we decided he had to stay home. Oscar was fine home alone and Cooper probably will be too but I’m betting he’ll be happy when we get home with his buddy.

Thank you for doing several dog posts lately. I try to never miss one. Our GSD Rocky is now living a busy life as a trained service dog for emotional support. The lady has teenage boys who take him to the trails at the lake most afternoons. Rocky loves to jog with them and then he likes to swim. Looks like the water would be so cold but they report that he loves it.
Oscar is always so clean looking, I’m sure that Cooper is just as clean but that white and brown makes for such a clean look. We have never had a grouchy dog, chewers and naughty ones, but all sweet and laid back where you could do anything with them. I love the way you live with Oscar’s high spirits and Cooper’s laid back personality.

I’ve only bathed Oscar once and he was 2 in December, 2023. He absolutely doesn’t smell like a dog and he doesn’t get dirty. Cooper, on the other hand, has a bit of a dog smell. We’ve had him 6 months and he’s had three baths and a couple of sponge baths for smelly areas.
It’s funny that Cooper is so laid back but yet I think he’s going to be more aggressive with Oscar than Oscar is with him. Cooper is definitely the alpha dog. When I call them to the door for treats, Oscar will stand back and wait for Cooper to get his, then Oscar steps forward and gets his. They are fun but they are a handful. I can’t leave Cooper unattended at all so even to run outside and water a few plants, he has to go into the crate. I know that’s the puppy part. I never ever dreamed I could trust Oscar unattended but when I leave the room, he sits on the ottoman and watches the door, waiting for me to come back and it’s been months since he got into something he wasn’t supposed to be messing with. I know we’ll get there with Cooper . . in about 18 months. 🙂
