Yesterday evening I was cross stitching and Cooper popped his head between the frame and the linen like h was thinking . . can’t you stop stitching and play with me?
He’s the cutest little guy. He’s getting close to being 9 months old and he’s still an energetic puppy but he’s a sweet, snuggly boy. He’s going to be such a good dog once he calms down a bit. I love his personality.
He and Oscar are still doing quite well together – surprisingly well. Oscar is finally at the point that I can leave the room for a few minutes without him destroying something but Cooper has to go in the crate if I’m not going to be right there with him. He will grow up too . . one year and three months from now . . I hope.

He definitely has a bit of devil dog in him but he is a sweetheart most of the time.

Mike is ready for a puppy. I’m not sure I am–they are so much work and all that work usually falls to me. I’ve even thought of getting an older shelter dog.

It’s a hard decision. At least with a puppy, you get to start out before they have learned too many bad habits but with a shelter dog, you may be able to know more about their personality before committing. I would have gladly taken a shelter dachshund if I could have found one. I always feel obligated to get a shelter dog but with Rita, Boots, Cat and several other shelter pets we’ve had through the years, I didn’t feel bad buying the dachshunds. I know dogs can be a lot of trouble but I love having them.
