This wasn’t funny when it was happening but I can’t stop laughing about it now. Vince had taken Rita out this morning and he came back and said “She was just walking along and all of a sudden she stopped and wouldn’t put any weight on her left front leg. She was holding it straight up in the air like “Pick me! Pick me!”
We have a ton of dandelions in the yard and they are full of bees. Yesterday Oscar got stung twice because he sees them and tries to catch them. About the time the dandelions are gone, Oscar has learned that it hurts to grab those little critters and he stops.
I told Vince that I bet she had stepped on a bee but she was so dramatic. He put her down in her bed and she was keeping that left paw straight up in the air and it caused her to fall over. I got concerned because I thought maybe she had a stroke or something.
We were taking Boots to the vet at 11:40 for his annual and I told Vince we could just take Rita and re-schedule Boots’ appointment. By the time we left, about two hours after her “incident”, Rita was sleeping and her leg was in the normal position.
I was telling the vet about it and she said “Oh, Chihuahuas are such drama queens.” We got home and she was walking normally. We both started laughing and said “She is SUCH a drama queen!”
I do know it hurt. I know how bad a bee sting hurts and I’m way bigger than she is. I’m sorry she was hurt and didn’t understand that it would stop hurting soon.

Are you making anything with the dandelions? I think you made jelly and vinegars in past years.

I haven’t done anything with them this year. I kept saying I was but just haven’t done it.

Poor little thing! She didn’t know what got her, but she sure wasn’t going to let it happen again!

No. And she made sure everyone knew she was injured. She is a funny little dog but I would probably do the same thing if a bee stung my foot.

Do you have a picture of the drama queen? Sounds adorable!

No. I didn’t want to take a picture of her in pain. She was hurting and I felt bad but there was so much added drama. 🙂
