There are more and more options available for jars, lids and rings. I’ve been a long, long time Ball jars user and for years have bought them from Walmart or farm supply type stores. Azure Standard now has jars. You do have to have a drop location near you, you do have to be available to meet the truck at various times when it will be at your drop and most of us have to add 8.5% for shopping. It does make the Azure jars a bit more expensive than Ball jars from Walmart but I think the quality more than makes up for the price difference.
As far as lids, Azure uses Superb lids and I do like those. There are also the For Jars lids and the Tattler re-usable lids. Tattler also has a new disposable lid that I have not use but have ordered and will try and report what I think about it as soon as it arrives.
I reach for the Superb, For Jars and Tattler re-usable lids before I use the Ball lids except when using new Ball jars
The last three cases of Ball quart jars I’ve opened, each has had three dented rings, as well as three dented lids. The cases of Ball jars have a thin layer of plastic over the top and while I’m not blaming Ball, because there’s shipping, there’s stocking, there are customers all dealing with these jars but Azure’s jars, even though they cost more, are fully enclosed in a sturdy cardboard box and I like the Superb lids much better than I like the Ball lids. I thought those three cases of quart jars were the last of my Ball jars but nope, found three more cases yesterday when Nicole was here helping organize my big pantry.
At some point, I should not need additional jars but when I do, I’m done with Ball and will only buy Azure jars from now on.
While it isn’t as easy for some to get the Azure jars, if you haven’t tried the Superb, For Jars or Tattler lids, I do urge you to try those.

The pups are getting better. Cooper is 7 months old and he’s a rascal. Oscar has been way more patient with him than I expected. Most days, I feel bad for Oscar and put Cooper in his crate (time out) just so Oscar can have some peace. Cooper is sweet and very comical and we sure enjoy them.
