Having Oscar and Cooper together can be like having two out of control children together. I feed them in the morning and again at 5 p.m. By 4 p.m., they’re apparently hungry. Oscar gets much more grouchy and Cooper seems to get much more – just out of control. Other times during the day, Cooper seems to pay attention to Oscar’s mood. If Oscar is seriously growling and showing his teeth, Cooper will leave him alone. Oscar has never tried to hurt Cooper but sometimes, I wish I could growl and show my teeth and Cooper would stop playing so rough with me. The best thing to do when it starts is just put Cooper in the crate.
This afternoon, I was stitching and decided . . just let them work it out. I was close enough to squirt them with the water bottle if needed, though as soon as I pick it up, they separate and look at me like “I wasn’t doing anything wrong.”
I was trying to stitch and finished the first row of the alphabet.
There’s still more stitching to do on the row with the flowers but I’ll come back to that later. I was stitching right to left so after I stitched the “A”, I looked at it and thought . . something isn’t right. I realized that letters A, B, C and D were one thread (1/2 row) higher than the rest of that line. It was barely noticeable – one linen thread, and I almost convinced myself to leave it but ripped those four letters off and re-stitched them. Note to Self: When the dogs are being wild and crazy, put the stitching down until they’re either calmed down or in their crates.
Another thing that is bugging me . . those flowers – there are four on each side of the square on point in the center but I haven’t stitched the one on the far left yet because it’s charted to be one row higher than the others. I cannot figure out why but yet I can’t find any errata or anything that says it’s an error. My plan is to stitch everything else, then see if I can find a reason why it should be one stitch higher.
It isn’t terribly obvious that it’s one stitch higher when I look at the picture of the finished piece but I’d rather not do it that way unless I have to.

I say move it! I am a bit anal about this type of thing and something like that, I fix. Of course, there are those that say it was stitched that way so you should stitch it the same…oh, decisions, decisions!

It was already moved before I took the picture. I knew I couldn’t live with it.

Haven’t seen a new post for several days, Judy. Hoping that you, Vince and the pups are fine and you have just been busy. Take care.

We’re good. Thanks for asking. We’ve been so busy with getting fruit trees and little giant trees mulched and fertilized, getting the greenhouse cleaned out, seeds started and the garden planted. The raised beds with garlic and rhubarb needed the leaf cover removed (though I’ve had to put it back on the rhubarb today). I plan to write late at night (and find myself too tired) or in the morning and end up getting busy with something else.
