You know how I want to stitch as much as I can on each piece of linen before taking it off the frame. I have all kinds of “scraps” of linen that I’ve cut off other projects but since I can no longer stitch in hand, those pieces are sometimes small enough that, unless I add strips of fabric around the sides, they’re too small for a scroll frame and some are too small for a hoop so it makes more sense to me to find something I want to stitch that fits the spot and stitch it while the linen is still in the frame.
I saw Jan Hicks’ Vintage Christmas Alphabet and I love them all. There are 11 packets total.
Most of these will be about 2-3/4″ square to about 3-1/4″ square and they are shown finished as little pillow type ornaments. These are about perfect for stitching in small leftover spots on linen.
I would love to stitch all of them and finish them as ornaments, have them in a box and keep them to give to Addie when she’s older. I’m thinking I could stitch them all, on different pieces of linen – whatever I happen to be working on, and then do the sewing/finishing on them after they’re all stitched.
No rush to get these done but I’m excited to find a spot to stitch some of them on the edges of other projects I’m working on.

Those are so pretty but I’ve got more projects that I can do in five lifetimes. I am almost done with Dancer. Just a few poinsettia looking motifs at the bottom.

I think that is a great idea. Just remember to label the box when you are done with them.

Oh, goodness I’ll have to post on here where I’m putting them so y’all can help me remember. Thanks for reminding me how forgetful I am!

Jo from Jo’s Country Junction uses Nurge hoops for small pieces of linen. Maybe that would help?
