I know – yesterday was Leap Day! I stopped stitching about midnight, took the picture of the project and was going to get a blog post written to post this morning and . . the internet was gone . . just not working. Without internet, we can’t make cell phone calls, we can’t use the cell phone as a hot spot. I could walk to the end of the driveway and get a weak signal but I wasn’t doing that after midnight in my pajamas. This morning Vince called Mediacom and there was a message that a fiber optic line had been cut and they were hoping to have it all restored by 6 p.m. I realized quickly how addicted I am to the internet.
I fixed breakfast and came downstairs to start stitching. Vince needed to go to town so he asked me if I wanted to go. I didn’t but I was nice and said yes. We wanted to find a Bartlett pear and a Montmorency cherry tree so we went to a few places looking for those. We did find the pear but so far, we haven’t found the cherry tree.
By the time we got home, the internet was working again. We did a few chores outside. My main goal was to get the heating mats set up in the downstairs garage for the seeds I’ve started. They’re fine in the greenhouse during the day but in the evenings, I bring them into the garage and put them on the heating mats.
This is what I got stitched on February 29.
The first block I’m working on is the ABC block. I’m working my way over to the yellow house and I think I might get to make a few stitches on that before bedtime tonight.
I’m still not sure what my plans are for this project. I don’t want to drag it out til next Leap Year but I was thinking since it takes FOUR years to get to the next Leap Year, maybe I’ll commit to finishing FOUR big projects before I can finish this one. That would give me five big finishes by February 29, 2028.
