We left about 8 this morning and went to Chad’s. We got there, brought in the few things we had brought for them (sourdough starter for Nicole, two loaves of bread, yarn and instructions for Addie to make a crochet sunflower granny square afghan and a few other things). Chad and Vince rushed off to an auction. I told Nicole “Chad’s gone, let’s make it warmer in here.” He’s always complaining about her keeping the house too warm. She said “Oh . . our heat is out. There’s a part ordered and it will hopefully be here by Tuesday!” What?? It was so cold in there. She said “It probably won’t get below 60 degrees. It probably didn’t but 60 degrees is dang cold. I went out to the car to get something. The car was sitting in the sun and it was nice and warm. I told her . . let’s go out and sit in the car . . but we didn’t. She made brownies and I was hoping the oven would heat up the house but it didn’t.
Vince and Chad got back from the auction about noon, we ate. Vince said “Why is it so cold in here?” They went through the heater story. We hung around for a while, played a game (Life) then we left, went by the grocery store and came home. There’s a little hometown type grocery store there, definitely not inexpensive, but they have the best produce. I got some gorgeous brussels sprouts, asparagus and kale. It won’t be long at all before we have asparagus coming out our ears but I wanted some fresh looking spears now so I bought two packages of those. They were on sale for $1.97 per pound, which is a great price.
Now I’m going to sit and stitch til bed time!
