This morning we awoke to a winder winderland. The weather had been so “it’s going to snow a lot/it isn’t going to snow much at all Sunday”. We have a great weatherman and he kept apologizing for the back and forth on the forecast. At first, he said we were going to get 3 – 5″ but the front could move north or south. A few days later, the forecast changed and we were in the 1-3″ area and the heavy snow had moved south down near Fayetteville, AR. Then it said maybe Sunday night into Monday morning but it would probably be just a dusting.
Late last night, our weatherman was apologizing and saying we might get 2 – 4″ but we might just get some flurries.
During the night I woke up a couple of times, looked at the cameras and up until about 3 a.m., there was no snow. I went out about 5 a.m. and it was snowing .. big, sloppy flakes that looked more like bundles of snow. By about 9 or 9:30 a.m., the snow had stopped and we had about 5″ of clean, white snow.
It’s a little after 4 p.m. and it’s almost all melted. The roads were warm from a week or so of warm temps, so the snow on the roads was pretty much gone as soon as it stopped falling but there were accidents as the snow was coming down faster than it was melting.
It surely was pretty while it lasted. My guess is that this was our last snow for the year, though I remember one time in Nevada, MO, just 45 minutes north of us, we had snow on Mother’s Day.

We were supposed to get a little bit of snow, but it all went way to the south of us, and I’m ok with that… 🙂

We didn’t get anything in St. Louis. Those are my favorite snows – beautiful but they don’t stick around long or create havoc.
