I have been a big fan of Pattern Keeper (cross stitching app) since I found it probably in early 2021. It has some limitations and one that bothers me (and there may be something I don’t even know about) but as far as I can see, it tells me how many stitches I’ve made each day (so long as I’m stitching in the app). I can set the time that I want “today” to end and I think I have it around 3 a.m. I’m sometimes up stitching til around 2 a.m. but rarely later than that. But, if I forget to look and forget to write it down, those numbers are gone the next day. Markup has a lot more info and it’s stored.
Because I was still stitching after midnight, some of my stitches were on yesterday and some were on today. That’s ok. I can change the time I want the day to end but haven’t done it yet.
Also, this app tells you, based on your stitching average, how long it will take you to complete this project and it will tell you how many stitches you need to make each day if you want the project completed by a certain date.
You can see that I’ll be able to do a “month at a glance” and see how many stitches I stitched each day. I’m thinking I saw where I can create project pages (of sorts) and make notes on those projects. I just got the app Sunday so I have a lot to learn.
It’s available for IOS and Android, which made me happy because, Android is my favorite. I do have an iPad but doubt I replace it when it’s life is over.
The reason I decided to get this app is that it’s supposed to be much easier to take a photo of a paper chart and import it into the app. I so much prefer to stitch with the tablet vs. a paper chart so I’m hoping I can figure all that out. Vince can make a pdf of paper charts but they never seemed to work very well for me with Pattern Keeper. He made one of a chart yesterday and I was able to import it and it seemed perfect!
Just wanted to share in case there are any cross stitchers who might benefit from this app. Of course, there is a learning curve and I’m not the best at this kind of stuff. Sunday, when I bought it and installed it, I was thinking I had just wasted about $18 and didn’t think I’d be using it much but last night when I started playing with it and stitching using it, I think I will love it and it’s the best $18 I ever spent. What a difference a day makes! 🙂

I started using Markup RXP when I got into stitching late 2020. I love it. I use an iPad and Markup was the only one for iPad. Join the FB group. So helpful. The developer is always answering questions. There is a bit of a learning curve. And PDF directly from a designer are the best. Also watch all the YouTube videos. So helpful and easy to follow.

I’m hoping this will be easier for getting paper charts into the app.
