January has flown by. I was able to do at least some amount of stitching every day except one. I did a halfway decent job of not ordering.
Here’s stitching calendar for January. Pretty much the only thing in this journal is stitching related though I do see “bloodwork” on there. I think I was so happy to get that done so I added it to this calendar so I would see it every day and count down the days til I could go back to eating meat.
In January, I stitched 10,172 stitches which is an average of 328 stitches per day. My goal in January and all months is to stitch at least 300 stitches per day. There were a few days I didn’t get in 300 stitches but I’m happy so long as my average is at least 300 stitches.
Starts:
January 1 – Martha Whalmsley – I got very little stitching done on that – 390 stitches. Then I put it it away for the second project.
January 1 – Strawberry Harvest – This was my Blessing Project for January.
January 21 – Started Be Mine. The journal shows it started on January 22 so this is probably one of those I started in the middle of the night after I had written the January 21 entry. Not much in my life is exact!
January 26 – Started a small Prairie Schooler Ornament.
Finishes:
#1 Finish was Strawberry Harvest.
Finish #2 was Be Mine.
Finish #3 was the small Prairie Schooler ornament.
Progress:
I stitched a good bit on This I Know. I’m going to continue working on that in February to try to get it finished.
Purchases:
I’m going to include purchases in the month in which they arrive. I’m not going to do a lot of explaining why I bought anything. I want to keep these reports short.
As far as charts, I ordered Blessing Sampler 2024 and Be Mine, both from The Camping Stitcher. The Blessing Sampler will be my January 1, 2024 project. Be Mine, I’ve already stitches.
I ordered and received two pieces of 22 count aida from My Vintage Needle Arts on Etsy.
I also received a half yard of 32 count Brea by Linen and Flax.
I received a few skeins of the Flower Floss from Colorado Cross Stitcher to stitch Dancer.
I think that’s it for the stitchy related accomplishments and purchases for January.

I am so pleased for you that you accomplish your goal of stitching at least 300 stitch per day. It sounds like you also did very well with keeping your purchases to just what you needed. I did not do as well. I purchased 17 yds of fabric but only used 9 yds. my goal is to use more than I buy. But I will say that journaling about the purchases has made me more aware of my buying. Oh well I will try to do better in February.

I’m so goal oriented and just knowing I have to write it all down and then share it here is what keeps me somewhat stronger. Don’t ever feel bad about not meeting your goal . . it isn’t like these goals are going to cause any real problems if we don’t meet them. There will be months (I hope not but I know how I am) when I have a terrible report but . . there’s always next month.
