Some of these are small but a finish is a finish and I’ll proudly share it here. It’s from the Prairie Christmas booklet. I think there are 12 (maybe more) little ornaments. Most (maybe all – obviously I didn’t pay very close attention) are about 45 x 45 stitches.
I am not a very good judge of how long things take to stitch. When I first started this, I thought I would have it stitched in a couple of hours. I timed myself and each little quarter of that piece took 1 hour, 20 minutes. It’s a good bit of stitching for a small piece. Each whole flower is 200 stitches and there were 4 so that’s 800 stitches. Each side is 45 stitches so that’s 180 stitches, then there’s the middle and I think those two combined were about 70 stitches so that’s over 1,000 stitches. The 1 hour, 20 minutes is if I’m just sitting and stitching – no trips outside with a dog; no dog arguments to referee, no packages to retrieve while Vince isn’t looking <G> . . so what I thought would take a couple of hours ended up taking all my stitching time for three days. Most of my stitching happens between about 8 p.m. and midnight.
I would love to have a little ornament tree in my foyer. One ornament done . . lots more to go!
There’s still enough space on this piece of linen for one more ornament I think.
Today I may go ahead and put in the basting thread for where I want the frame to fit and then I’ll have a better idea how much space I need to leave around them. That’s probably a good idea.

Pretty ornament and a great start for a tree! I too grossly underestimate how long it will take me to stitch small stuff… but they do get done quicker than the BIG projects and as you said, a finish is a finish. I’m working on some small Prairie Schoolers too… those little squares from Button Up… should make cute little pillows when I get around to FFO-ing them. happy stitching!

Yes, those would be super cute. I don’t have that chart but have looked at it several times.
