The chart shows the background stitched on the whole area beneath the house.
The fill in stitches take forever and I’m not even sure how I feel about them. I’m thinking it might not look bad if I did the fill in stitches above the vine and not fill in below the vine.
Of course, I’ll finish filling in the stitches above the vine but do you think it’s ok if I don’t fill in the area below the vine?
I can always finish stitching above the fine, and then show another picture.

I think either will be fine. Personally, I like the bottom fill, but it will work without it, too. If you don’t do the bottom fill, you may want to remove the straight line going across the bottom so the edge matches other edges.

I agree with Kat. The bottom line may need to be removed, to make it look balanced, if you do not complete the fill-in. Which I also think would be fine not completing.

Stitch above the vine and then see if you like the way it looks. I think it will look unfinished but I have been wrong before.

I don’t think the fill in is necessary. I would have just done the two lines that you have all the way across of the green and then only had the border below.
Angie says
I like it filled in because it shows the last border off better. Kind of looks unfinished without the fill in. Just my opinion

It’s your project, so do it the way you like it!

If I hadn’t seen the printed pattern, I would have never known the below the line stitching was to be there at all!

Fill it all in….

If it were me I’d fill in above the border – I like the way the green fill in looks with that irregular shape where you have it already filled in – and like others said, remove the straight line on the bottom. I think it will make the border stand out more since to me it sort of looks lost among all that green on top and bottom of it in the chart. And it will be easier to frame without a straight green bottom edge to get straight. 🙂

Hi Judy, I think it would look more complete if the whole grass area was stitched as charted. However if you were to remove the bottom straight row of stitches , I believe you could probably skip the bottom part of the grass and it would still look good.

Its fun to read what others think, but I would remove the very bottom stitches and just fill the part inside the border. It looks wonderful by the way!!

When I was looking at the pattern, I thought, I would not do all that fill in. It does not need it at all.

I think it will look fine. Hugs,

I agree with those who said that if you remove the bottom lines, it will look great! However, I am not good at picturing something like this so it would be nice to see it without the bottom filled in but with the line gone (maybe just cover the line so we can get an idea without you frogging the stitches?
Pat D says
I would just fill it in down to the bottom border like you’ve started to do, then take out the straight line at the bottom. It looks odd to me in the original pattern to have all that stitching below the border.

I did as suggested. Just finished it.
