Today I seemed to have had way more energy than normal. Maybe my body was happy to have beef back . . I doubt that but I went non-stop til about 3 p.m. Then I told Vince I was going to take a nap and I slept for three hours. I hope that means I’ll be able to stay up long enough to get some stitching done.
Last week, I had shared the picture of my shelf once I got it loaded.
You can see that I just have a rug pad under it. I was able to buy a rug that is the same as the ones I already have in the breakfast room. Because there’s a door leading to the sun room just on the right side of the shelf, I had to find one that was almost perfect in length. They were available in a 2′ x 2’9″ small runner size so two of those came out to be 2′ x 5’6″. Vince measured for me and he said it couldn’t be any longer than 5’9″ or it would be in the way of our path to the sun room so I got two of those smaller rugs and they fit perfectly. There is an “edge” that you see right in the middle but I have a plan for what I want to put under the book case. We put the bottom shelf high enough that I can slide baskets under them.
They are 16″ deep x 12″ wide x 5″ tall. Perfect. I can put 5 under the shelf and I will put things in them like:
- Extra Napkins (in a zipper bag)
- Some of the things I have on the top shelf can be moved down like canning lids, plastic lids, fermenting lids. I want to put some of my nicer casserole/baking/serving dishes on the top shelf.
Anyway, when we were putting the shelf together and I was putting everything on it, Vince said “Don’t you want to wait because you’ll have to take all that off to move the shelf?” No . . I didn’t want to wait. I was too excited to get everything on it.
Thursday the rugs arrived so this morning, the first thing I did when I got up was to take everything off all the shelves . . it was a LOT . . then Vince lifted the shelf unit while I got the rugs positioned and got everything back on the shelves.
Then I fixed breakfast (including real bacon!), then made rye bread, then I made up a batch of ranch seasoning /dressing mix, vacuum sealed some of the mix and used some to season a roast. I pressure cooked the roast for tomorrow, then once it cooled, shredded it and put it in the fridge. Then I got the hamburger meat seasoned and made into patties for hamburgers later in the day. We had flax seed meal and chia seeds that needed to be put in jars and vacuum sealed so I got all that done, did a couple of loads of laundry. Vince commented “Whatever is going on with you has not affected your energy level!”
That was it for today . . now to get some stitching done.

I need some energy like this! With sleep apnea and narcolepsy, I have no energy and I can’t get CVS to renew my prescriptions! I had to switch from Jacobs and I HATE that!! They have spoiled their customers!!

Oh goodness. It’s so different when you can use a family pharmacy instead of the big box stores. I’m sorry you’re having so much trouble. Every day I am thankful for the energy I have.
I hope it all works out for you and CVS can get your Rx refilled.

CVS wouldn’t refill my prescriptions either even though it said on the bottles that they had one refill left before Dec 14th & I called well before that. So called the clinic for an appointment for a checkup so they could be renewed. A few minutes later the clinic called back and said Medicare wouldn’t pay for a checkup until March or April, imagine that! Anyway the nurse who called said they would fix my prescription problem with CVS & they did. Took a week to get them what with a blizzard in between and the beginnings of the next one.

I got pretty much nothing done today, but I’m glad you were back to “normal!” That was a lot to move, but it looks great!
