This will sound crazy because we’re both retired, really have NOTHING going on when it isn’t gardening season and yet my mornings and until late afternoon, I stay busy and rarely get to stitch til 4:00 p.m. or later. Oscar and Cooper take up a good bit of time. There are chores in the kitchen and laundry and bathrooms to clean . . you all know about all that but every now and then I get started stitching earlier in the day and that makes such a difference.
Yesterday was not one of those days and today will not be either. Vince and I get hair cuts today and then I’m going to visit with a friend in the afternoon. There’s more to life than stitching, right?
All my stitching time yesterday was on Strawberry Harvest.
Here’s what I have stitches as of last night.
Everything met up on the border and that’s always a good thing (but doesn’t always happen). There is a lot of fill in stitching to be done around that vine on the bottom. I think there are 19 rows of filling in stitching. That is mindless stitching and it goes quickly so I’ll save that for the days when I don’t have a lot of time and I will be able to get 300+ stitches done quickly without having to count or change colors.
You can see on the chart that just beneath the house, there are two blue rows. Why? Is that supposed to be water? To me, that doesn’t look right so I added an extra row to the top and bottom of the grassy area at the bottom and left off the blue rows. Maybe it was just to divide the grassy area from the hill. It’s ok with me if the hill blends into the grass . . happens in real life. My little hills in the back yard have the same grass as the flat ground.
My stitching plan for the next couple of days:
- Stitch the strawberries in the bottom grassy area so all that will be left will be the green stitching there.
- Outline the house, roof, windows and doors so I can fill in the house.
- Finish the leaves around the outer border.
Hopefully I can have all that done by Sunday.
Here’s my stitch count for yesterday:
