The other day Denise posted a list of charts she plans to work on in 2024. One of them was The Good Shepherd. I had all of the charts she mentioned except for The Good Shepherd but had ordered it a couple of days before. Several others that were on her list were also on my list.
I didn’t take the chart out of the plastic bag . . bad Judy. But, this chart really makes me happy and I would love to have it finished by the end of the year. It isn’t as huge as it looks.
It should finish on 40 count at 8-3/4″ x 8-7/8″.
Denise started The Good Shepherd last night and that inspired me to kit it.
I’m using Fox & Rabbit’s Inca linen, 40 count.
The chart calls for DMC. I preferred to use Victoria Clayton’s silks but am trying to not buy so much floss, charts, linen, etc. I took the DMC called for floss to my bins of silks and was able to match them close enough . . I think.
There was one DMC color that I didn’t have a close match in silk. I got online and looked to see which floss Vikki has on her chart that matches up to DMC 415. Then, I remembered that there was a bobbin in one of the drawers in the bathroom. Why? Who knows! I’m guessing I had it in my pocket and took it out when I was fixing to take a shower but that bobbin has been in there for well over a year.
It isn’t the color Vikki recommends but it’s close enough for me.
I’m going to finish the Long Dogs project before I start this one but I’m ready to start it.

Your silks are excellent matches for the DMC but I’m still laughing that you had one in the bathroom drawer. 🙂
