Happy Birthday, Oscar!

We made it to 2 years old! Here’s a post from last year, when he turned 1. I am happy to say that he has finally slowed down some. He isn’t as well behaved as I had hoped he would be (which is my fault) but there’s been so much improvement. He still, and may always, shred floss, paper towels, any kind of paper. He no longer digs up the carpet or shreds the sofa. He’s had a sheet in his crate for several months and hasn’t shredded them (which I can’t say for Cooper).

I guess he’s a like more chunky than he was last year. He loves to eat and we’re working to curb that constant hunger. Cooper has gone from eating three times a day to two times a day so that helps. Oscar thought he should eat every time Cooper ate so I cut back on how much Oscar was eating at each meal and divided his food into three servings. Now they’re both eating twice. Experts say they should eat once a day but I have always fed my dogs twice a day.

Also, probably this time last year I stopped giving Oscar treats for going to the bathroom outside but now that Cooper gets them, Oscar expects them when he goes out too. They both get one little morsel of dry dog food when they go to the bathroom outside so I don’t think that’s going to hurt them five or six times a day. Yes, Cooper goes outside and goes to the bathroom. Oscar expects a treat . . even though he didn’t even go outside!

I’m so, so happy to have both of them. They’re so different but so similar!
